Det nesten 5 mil lange Altevatn er en transportkorridor inn i villmarka hvor Fjellguiden tilbyr:

  Daglig leder Kjell Hanstad er født i Bardu i 1953 og kjenner fjellområdene som sin egen bukselomme. 
  Det kan bla nevnes om Kjell:

  - 3 barn og 4 barnebarn
  - 35 års tjeneste i forsvaret som leder både i feltavdelinger og stab.
  - 3 år som rådmann i Bardu
  - ivrig fisker og jeger

About Fjellguiden

Fjellguiden Altevatn offers attractive products year-round to enthusiasts of the great outdoors in search of unique nature-based adventures.

Fjellguiden is a limited liability company in Bardu, Northern Norway: Our owners and manager have vast experience in the great outdoors and excellent local knowledge of the mountain areas surrounding Lake Altevatn.

The almost 50 km long Lake Altevatn is a transport corridor into the wilderness where Fjellguiden offers:

Boat transport

Lake Altevatn is nearly 50 km long, is subject to regulations and has many treacherous shoals, rocks and at times rough weather. Local knowledge is therefore important in order to travel safely on Lake Altevatn. 

With experienced and certified skippers, Fjellguiden offers safe transport along Lake Altevatn for passengers and cargo in our Buster Magnum with 225 hp motor. We also have a rental agreement for another boat of the same type. This boat is chosen based on safety and efficiency and in light on many years’ experience with boat transportation.

The boat is certified for up to eight people, and is also insured through Gjensidige Forsikring. All necessary safety equipment is on board.

 

Prices are available on request, based on the number of passengers, dogs, weight and volume.

Indicative times (4 people and normal baggage): 
Boat harbour – Gamas (one way): 40 minutes (48 km) 
Boat harbour – Ostu / Leina (one way): 35 minutes (39 km) 
Subject to weather conditions!

Fjellguiden’s boat can drop our clients off at any given point along the lake’s 110 km shoreline.

 

Snowmobile transport

Fjellguiden offers transportation by snowmobile to all cabins along Lake Altevatn and to Strømmen, midway across Lake Leina. The same applies to the national park border with Ertebel. Fjellguiden adapts the number of snowmobiles and sledges to suit the number of people, dogs and baggage.

Comfortable passenger pulkas, helmets, goggles and suitable clothing (if required) is included in the hire price.

Prices are available on request, based on the number of passengers, dogs, weight and volume.

 

 

Tent camp Leina

Fjellguiden has a wonderful tent camp which maintains a good standard. Our camp comprises large tents with permanent wooden floors, camp beds and tables and chairs. In addition, we have a 30-man lavvu (traditional Sami herdsmen’s tent), which is equipped with nice wooden furniture and is Fjellguiden’s lounge!

The tents have fly sheets, insect screens and heating. They are fully equipped with cooking equipment and there is a nice campfire site right outside.

Just a short distance from the camp site is a sandy beach where you can bathe and launch boats. Other facilities include a hot tub, sanitary tent and small boats and canoes.

 

Cabins

Statskog have two cabins in the Altevatn area available for hire, which you may book by visiting www.inatur.no. You will also find detailed descriptions of the cabins and the various opportunities on offer. Click on the link beside the photos to view a more detailed description of the cabin. 

Cabin at Politiodden is situated right in the middle of good hunting terrain. The cabin sleeps up to six, but a maximum of 3-4 is recommended for longer stays. This cabin maintains a basic standard.

Cabin at Leina is situated 200 m along Lake Leinavatn and provides an excellent base for hunting and fishing all year round. This cabin has three bedrooms, sleeps 10 people and is well equipped.

 

 

Guiding

HUNTING – AUTUMN AND WINTER Fjellguiden offers guiding on small game hunting trips, primarily for willow ptarmigan and rock ptarmigan. You can choose between hunting with or without dogs.

FISHING – SUMMER AND WINTER Fjellguiden offers fishing guides for fly fishing, trolling from boat or canoe, pike fishing and fishing with worms in the river. It is possible to combine these options.

NATURE-BASED ADVENTURES – EVERY SEASON Long or short hikes in forest or mountain areas with accommodation in tents or cabins or a combination of both.

CLOUDBERRIES – AUGUST Knowledgeable local guides can on request take you to fantastic cloudberry marshlands, providing nature plays its part.   Snowmobile safari/ ice-fishing Experience the wonderful light in the mountains and, if we are lucky, the mystical Northern Lights. Join us on a 4-5 hour snowmobile safari, including an opportunity to try ice-fishing. Refreshments are served and overnight accommodation is also possible. We provide all necessary equipment. Price on request.   Trout and Arctic char fishing

Join Fjellguiden on a fishing trip. If you are lucky, there will be a good catch. We offer a 4-5 hour boat trip with fishing, including refreshments.
